Ambition is someone's drive to do something. If they have great ambition, it means they will stop at nothing to reach their goal. While ambition can be a great quality, people with too much ambition can easily be lead down a dark path that leads to nothing but pain and suffering. People with too much ambition will stop at nothing to get what they want, no matter the consequences. They don't care who gets hurt in the process. To them, the end will always justify the means, making it one of the most dangerous characteristics to have. I believe that someone has "crossed the ethical line” in being ambitious when their actions hurt themselves or someone else physically or mentally. While I support people who work hard to reach a goal, they have no right to harm another human being in order to achieve what they desire. Common ambitions include the desire to gain physical, mental, or political power as well as the desire to become rich and successful.
